Sessions focus on understanding how past experiences and current stressors influence the present, while staying oriented toward practical and meaningful change.
Work is collaborative and paced thoughtfully, with an emphasis on building insight, strengthening coping skills, and creating strategies that support balance and emotional well-being.
Important Note: Individuals receiving this service must be located (not residing) in the state of Massachusetts at the time of service due to license restrictions
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on building practical skills to help people manage emotions, cope with distress, and improve relationships.
One-on-one DBT Skills Training is a structured, skills-focused service that helps adults build tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication, and balance. This service is practical and educational in nature, with an emphasis on applying skills in daily life.
DBT skills training typically focuses on four core areas: learning to be more present and aware, building skills to regulate emotions, developing ways to tolerate distress more effectively, and improving communication and relationship skills. These tools are designed to be practical and applicable to everyday life.
Important note: Individuals seeking DBT Skills Training who are experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors, self-injury, substance misuse, or eating disorder concerns are encouraged to be engaged in individual therapy with a separate provider addressing those needs. DBT Skills Training can be a helpful complement to therapy but is not a substitute for comprehensive mental health treatment in these situations.
Elizabeth offers DBT-skills focused training and for mental health professionals seeking to strengthen their understanding and application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills. This service is designed for clinicians who are learning DBT skills, expanding their skill set, running DBT skills groups, or looking for support integrating DBT principles into their clinical work.
Training and consultation may include foundational DBT concepts, skills instruction, and practical guidance for running effective DBT Skills Groups or implementing DBT-informed interventions with clients.
Elizabeth brings over 25 years of clinical experience and a grounded, accessible teaching style that emphasizes clarity, ethics, and real-world application.
DBT training and consultation services are available to licensed clinicians, pre-licensed clinicians, and clinical teams, and are offered separately from therapy services.
Elizabeth is a Board Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist through the Linehan Board of Certification.
This service is intended for mental health professionals and is not a therapy service.
Mindfulness and meditation training is offered as a skills-based, supportive service for adults interested in strengthening awareness, emotional regulation, and stress management. Sessions may include guided meditation, breath-based practices, and discussion around how mindfulness can be used to respond more intentionally to stress, anxiety, and emotional reactivity. This service is educational and experiential in nature and may be offered as a standalone service or as a complement to therapy.
