Counseling and Therapy

Book a Free Consult Call Today

Compassionate, evidence-informed therapy that helps you understand where you have been, navigate what you are facing now, and move toward meaningful change.

Life experiences can shape how we understand ourselves, relate to others, respond to stress, and move through the world. Patterns that once helped us cope, protect ourselves, or remain connected can eventually leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck.

Therapy offers a space to understand these patterns without judgment. Together, we can explore what is happening beneath the surface, strengthen your ability to navigate difficult emotions and experiences, and develop practical ways of responding that feel more effective and aligned with the life you want to create.

Therapy That Sees the Whole Person

I do not view people as collections of symptoms or diagnoses. I see individuals whose emotional well-being has been shaped by relationships, environments, stressors, losses, experiences, and the ways they learned to adapt over time.

Many behaviors that cause difficulty in the present made sense within the circumstances in which they developed. Understanding that context does not mean remaining focused on the past or allowing it to determine your future. It can help reduce shame, increase self-compassion, and create more room for choice.

My goal is to help you understand how your experiences may be connected to your present-day thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and physical responses—while also supporting you in building the skills and confidence needed to move forward.

Counseling May Be Helpful If You Are Experiencing

  • Anxiety, persistent worry, or difficulty relaxing
  • Chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, or burnout
  • Trauma-related responses or the lasting effects of difficult experiences
  • Intense emotions or difficulty regulating emotional responses
  • Relationship patterns that feel painful, confusing, or repetitive
  • Significant life transitions, loss, or changes in identity
  • Low self-worth, self-criticism, or dependence on external validation
  • Difficulty establishing or maintaining boundaries
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, others, or the life you are living
  • Patterns of coping or behavior that no longer feel effective
  • A sense that you are surviving rather than fully living

You do not need to be in crisis—or have everything clearly figured out—to benefit from therapy. Sometimes the starting point is simply knowing that something no longer feels sustainable and wanting support in understanding what needs to change.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-informed practice. I draw primarily from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and a whole-person understanding of emotional health.

Depending on your needs and goals, our work may include:

  • Understanding connections among thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical responses
  • Identifying patterns and the purposes they may have served
  • Learning practical skills for managing anxiety, stress, and intense emotions
  • Increasing awareness of triggers, vulnerabilities, and automatic reactions
  • Strengthening distress tolerance and the ability to remain present during difficult moments
  • Developing more effective communication and relationship skills
  • Establishing boundaries that reflect your needs and values
  • Building self-compassion without avoiding accountability or change
  • Clarifying what matters to you and making choices that feel more intentional
  • Exploring the mind-body connection and how stress is experienced physically
  • Practicing mindfulness in ways that feel accessible and relevant to your daily life

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I work with you to identify approaches and strategies that fit your experiences, strengths, goals, and current capacity. I will not expect you to move faster than feels manageable, but I will also support you in gently examining the patterns that may be keeping you from moving forward.

Insurance & Private Pay

Therapy services are available through insurance or private pay, depending on your plan and preference.

I currently work with a variety of insurance plans and can help you determine whether your coverage may apply to services. For individuals who prefer not to use insurance, or whose plan is not accepted, private-pay therapy is also available.

Because insurance coverage and benefits vary, I encourage prospective clients to verify their behavioral health benefits directly with their insurance provider. We can also discuss payment options during the initial consultation.

What You Can Expect

Our work begins by developing a shared understanding of what brings you to therapy, what you hope will be different, and what may be contributing to the concerns you are experiencing.

Some sessions may focus on gaining insight into emotional or behavioral patterns. Others may be more skill-based and practical. At times, we may explore how earlier experiences continue to influence the present. At other times, the most helpful focus may be a current situation, relationship, decision, or challenge.

Throughout the process, I welcome open conversation about what is and is not helping. Therapy works best when it is collaborative, and your perspective matters in shaping the direction and pace of our work.

Therapy and Coaching Are Different Services

Therapy is a clinical service focused on assessing and treating mental health concerns, reducing emotional distress, understanding the impact of past and present experiences, and improving overall functioning and well-being.

Aligned Life Coaching is a nonclinical, future-focused service for emotionally stable individuals who are primarily seeking personal growth, values clarification, greater alignment, and support translating insight into purposeful action.

If you are uncertain which service is most appropriate, we can discuss your needs and determine the best starting point. If your needs change, we can also revisit that conversation over time.

Telehealth Therapy for Adults

Counseling and therapy services are offered through secure telehealth appointments for adults age 18 and older who are located in Massachusetts at the time of service. Telehealth allows you to participate from a private and comfortable location while maintaining the consistency and connection of ongoing therapy.

Taking the Next Step

Reaching out for therapy does not mean that you are broken or have failed to manage life on your own. It means you are choosing to understand yourself more deeply and considering what might become possible with the right support.

If this approach feels aligned with what you are looking for, I invite you to learn more about availability, insurance and payment options, or how to request an initial consultation.
